ULAANBAATAR ROTARACT CLUB WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1999 AT THE INITIATIVE OF THE ULAANBAATAR ROTARY CLUB AND OFFICIALLY COMMENCED OPERATIONS ON FEBRUARY 28, 2000.

Since its foundation, the club has initiated a wide range of socially-focused projects and programs, successfully raising the necessary funds and implementing them over the course of 25 years. As Mongolia’s first Rotaract club, it has led by example and paved the way for 13 other Rotaract clubs. Originally, club meetings were held in English. However, in line with the mission of helping others and encouraging broader participation, meetings transitioned to the Mongolian language, resulting in a current membership of over 170 official members.

With respect to its projects, the club has consistently implemented around 70 initiatives across seven core focus areas. Notable ongoing projects include "Eye See", "Lead Me", and "Take Action", alongside responsive programs like "Children's Garden" and "Ergeltээр Itgel" (Hope Through Change).

Out of 9,000 Rotaract clubs and 120,000 Rotaractors in 189 countries worldwide, 14 Rotaract clubs have been established in Mongolia, actively participating in volunteer service.

“GREEN DAY” Project was part of the 2024–2025 District Plan under the “Environmental Protection” section. RAC Mongolia aimed to instill eco-friendly habits among members and raise awareness of environmental issues within the Rotary community by organizing various environmental activities.

“Mongolian Book Library” improved the learning environment for 3,000 students by investing $32,800 to renovate school libraries and collect donated books.

“Little Heroes” is the largest annual joint project implemented by all Rotaract and Interact clubs in Mongolia. This initiative brings holiday joy to hospitalized children by visiting them as Santa Claus and Snow Girls to deliver gifts. In 2023, it reached 347 children with 33 million MNT in donations; in 2024, 950 children with 40 million MNT. The project continues to expand its reach each year.

“WARM HEARTS” Campaign

Despite cold winters and hot summers, traffic police and street workers continue their duties. As a gesture of gratitude, hot aaruul tea and sea buckthorn juice were distributed during the coldest days. Over 100 people have been supported through this project.

Lead Me Project

A project to guide high school students toward the right path in life, ignite their dreams, and introduce them to life’s possibilities. Mentors who have succeeded in various fields conducted workshops for orphanage students and those in remote districts, helping build goals, vision, and confidence.

Kindergarten Project

In 2018, 18 children from low-income families in Songinokhairkhan District’s 22nd khoroo — including orphans and children of disabled parents — were enrolled in “Bambi” Kindergarten. The $10,000 budget was funded by the Jeonju Rotary Club of South Korea.

“Intellectual Future” Library Project

Launched on November 25, 2013, this project has established a series of libraries. The first one was set up in Songinokhairkhan District’s 31st khoroo with support from Khuree Rotary.

“Reproductive Health Education” Project

In 2017, with 2.56 million MNT in funding from Kowloon Tong Rotary Club, human rights and reproductive health education was provided at schools 40, 46, 105, and 113, in collaboration with the Princess Center.

“Healthy Rotaractors” Blood Donation Campaign

Since November 14, 2015, this annual campaign has promoted blood donation in partnership with the National Blood Transfusion Center, emphasizing that one donation can save three lives. It has grown to include members from Rotary and Rotaract clubs.

“Education for All” Scholarship Project

Since 2013, this project has provided scholarships to students regardless of GPA or social status. From 2016–2018, funding came from the Morin Khuur Orchestra through concert proceeds. Since 2019, mentorship was added, providing 100+ million MNT to 50 students and mentoring 80 youths.

“LABDOO” Project

A global initiative to reduce educational inequality through technology. In 2018, “Labdoo Hub Ulaanbaatar” was established to disinfect, format, and install educational software on donated laptops, which are then sent to rural schools lacking computer labs. To date, over 80 devices have been donated to schools in Selenge, Darkhan, Dundgovi, and Bulgan.

“Healthy Future” Project

Launched in 2024 to provide medical check-ups, health education, immune support, and disease prevention for vulnerable children. So far, 150 children aged 6–12 from the “Önör Bül” Children’s Center have benefited, with a total investment of 34 million MNT.
